Shell stone is a decorative building stone, which, in addition to its special beauty, is also well priced. This stone has great polishing capability. The most common use of shell stone is in the walls of the parking and staircase, the walls of the building, the walls of the commercial premises, the hall and flooring of residential buildings. Shell stone is extracted from the quarries of Mahabad in Yazd province as well as Arsanjan Fars (with less color and less shells). Of similar rocks of shell stone, a marble with the name of Melika is a colorless, non-transparent, dark color that is a product of the Kerman quarry.
